ABOUT ME

Every Family Should Travel

Hi, I’m Erin — a mom, traveler, planner, realist, and the slightly sarcastic voice behind Every Family Travels, a family travel blog built for real life.

I believe — deeply — that every family should travel.

Not perfectly.
Not luxuriously.
Not Instagram-ready.

But intentionally.

Travel matters to me because family matters to me.

I had my kids young. They’ve watched me grow through every season of life — figuring things out, going back to school, rebuilding financially, blending families, starting over, and learning (sometimes the hard way) that travel doesn’t have to stop just because life changes.

And trust me — life always changes.

This Isn’t a “Perfect Travel” Story

It’s a real one.

I’ve traveled:

  • As a single mom
  • With adult daughters
  • Pregnant (and miserable)
  • With twins
  • During COVID
  • On a tight budget

Some vacations were magical.
Some were exhausting.
Some were learning experiences I laugh about now.
And some… well, let’s just say stubbornness may have sabotaged a few.

But every single trip taught me something — about planning smarter, staying flexible, budgeting wisely, and focusing on what actually matters when you travel with people you love.

That’s what shaped this space.

Why I Do This

I didn’t travel to show my kids luxury.

I traveled to show them the world is bigger than their comfort zone.

I wanted my daughters to grow up:

  • Curious, not afraid
  • Confident enough to travel without me
  • Smart enough to plan and budget
  • Brave enough to explore

I want my sons to grow up knowing new places, cultures, and experiences are normal — not scary.

And I want all of my kids to understand that family doesn’t look one way.

Families change.
Seasons shift.
But shared experiences stick.

What You’ll Find Here

If you’re here, you probably believe travel should fit real life — not the other way around.

At Every Family Travels, you’ll find:

  • Honest trip stories (the good and the bad)
  • Real-life family travel at every stage
  • Budget-smart planning strategies
  • Practical tips for planning family trips
  • Advice without influencer fluff
  • Trips with kids, without kids, and everything in between

This isn’t about chasing trends or checking boxes.

It’s about building memories that belong to you — even when things go sideways.

The Magic of First Times

There is something incredibly special about sharing first times with the people you love.

The look on your kid’s face when they see something unforgettable for the first time.
Watching them swim in the ocean.
Seeing their confidence grow with every new experience.

And even as adults — doing something new together still feels magical.

You don’t have to travel far.
You don’t have to spend a fortune.
But you do have to go.

Because these moments?
They’re the ones you carry forever.
They’re the stories that get told and retold.
And one day, they get passed down.

Why chase perfection? The best memories are made in the perfectly imperfect moments.

There’s a big world out there.

Go see it.
